LIAT Airlines (LI) is an air carrier company that came into existence in 1956 and now operates as the Leeward Islands Air Transport (LIAT). This airline has its base at Grantley Adams International Airport, Barbados (BGI). Headquartered at the V.C. Bird International Airport in Antigua (ANU), LIAT Airlines is owned by seven Caribbean Governments, with three being prime shareholders.
LIAT Services was started by the late Frank Delisle in Montserrat, and commenced operations with only Piper Apache flying between Antigua and Montserrat.
Connectivity and Fleet Size
LIAT Airlines operates frequent inter-island flights to 17 destinations within the Caribbean. Grenada, Trinidad, Guadeloupe, St. Lucia, Dominican Republic, St. Thomas, Dominica, Martinique, Anguilla, Puerto Rico, St. Vincent, St. Croix, Tortola, Barbados, St. Kitts, Nevis, St. Maarten, Curacao, Antigua and Trinidad are among the destinations where LIAT Airlines offers its services. This airline in total flies to 21 destinations all over the world and has 63 major routes.
The current fleet of LIAT Airlines comprises of 10 aircrafts, including five ATR 42-600 and five ATR 72-600.
Services and Amenities
LIAT Airlines, which is also known as the “The Caribbean Airline” offers only economy class cabin on all their aircrafts.
There is a trolley service for every flight with a duration of more than 45 minutes. The trolley service is between 5 AM to 10:30 AM. Travelers are served with hot refreshing tea and coffee and after 10:30 AM the passengers can enjoy a selection of beverages like sprite, coke, ginger ale, etc.
Passengers can keep themselves busy reading in-flight magazine called ZiNG Carribbean. The magazine is available on every flight.

Only one piece of baggage is allowed with maximum weight of 50 lbs.
The dimensions must not exceed 62 linear inches.
Carry-On Baggage
All passengers are allowed only one piece of hand luggage with a maximum weight of 15 lbs.
Along with this, personal items like briefcase, handbag and laptops can be carried free of charge.
