Cathay Dragon is a Hong Kong based international regional airline owned by Cathay Pacific group. The airline has its corporate headquarters and main hub at Hong Kong International Airport. The airline is wholly owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong’s national carrier.
The airline that was established on May 24, 1985 was earlier known as Dragon Air. After being taken over by the Cathay Pacific group in 2006, the airline was rebranded as Cathay Dragon. The airline offers its frequent travelers to register for the Marco Polo Club loyalty program to enjoy a range of additional benefits. The loyalty program is owned by Cathay Pacific and the members of the club are automatically enrolled as member of Asia Miles program. The airline also has three codeshares on routes that are served by partner airlines.

Passengers who make Economy and Premium Cathay Dragon reservations are permitted to carry only one piece of cabin baggage with its maximum weight not exceeding 15 lbs. The maximum permitted dimensions of the same should not exceed 9 inches (H), 14 inches (W) and 22 inches (L).
Business Class flyers can carry one piece of cabin baggage weighing not more than 22 lbs and the maximum permitted dimensions of the same are 9 inches (H), 14 inches (W) and 22 inches (L).
All First Class passengers flying on Cathay Dragon flights are permitted to carry one piece of cabin baggage with maximum weight not exceeding 22 lbs. The permitted dimensions for such a cabin baggage are 9 inches (H), 14 inches (W) and 22 inches (L).
All passengers can also carry an additional item like small handbag, laptop bag or a small backpack in addition to one piece of cabin baggage.
Economy flyers on Cathay Dragon flights can carry two pieces of checked baggage each weighing not more than 70 lbs.
Premium Economy flyers are permitted to carry two pieces of checked baggage each weighing 77 lbs.
Business flyers can carry maximum two pieces of checked baggage. The max permitted weight of such a checked baggage is 88 lbs each.
First class flyers are allowed to carry maximum three pieces of checked baggage. Such a piece of checked baggage should weigh less than 110lbs each.
The maximum permitted dimensions of a checked baggage are 80 inches.
