Southwest Airlines Announces Hawaii Flights Route Modifications for Summer 2025

Southwest Airlines, as a major low-cost airline, is among the most preferred choices for most passengers. The airline has recently announced a network expansion plan for the summer of 2025. As per the reports, there will be a total of 33 overnight flights with 13 new Redeye services. These flights will be operating to different destinations globally.

Southwest Airlines has also planned to enforce expansive service revisions for its Hawaii routes, set to take effect between April and June 2025. These changes emphasize the strategic efforts that will optimize the flight network in response to market demand. This is done to manage capacity across Hawaiian and mainland U.S. destinations.

Here is a brief on Southwest Hawaii Flights route modifications:

Honolulu Flights Route Modifications:

• Honolulu to Kahului: Weekly flights will be reduced from 77 to 55 starting April 8, 2025.
• Honolulu to Kona: Weekly flights will decrease from 42 to 34, effective April 8, 2025.
• Honolulu to Las Vegas: Service frequency will increase to three daily flights beginning June 5, 2025.
• Honolulu to Lihue: Weekly flights will be cut from 42 to 34, starting April 8, 2025.
• Honolulu to Oakland: Daily flights will be reduced from two to one, effective April 8, 2025.
• Honolulu to Phoenix: Daily flights will be scaled back from two to one starting April 8, 2025.

Kahului Flights Route Modifications:

• Kahului to Las Vegas Daily flights will decrease from two to one, starting April 8, 2025.
• Kahului to Long Beach Suspension of two weekly flights.
• Kahului to Oakland Daily flights will be reduced from two to one.
• Kahului to San Jose Weekly flights will increase from two to five starting June 5, 2025.

Kona Flights Route Modifications:

• Kona to Los Angeles will resume with two weekly flights from June 7 to August 3, 2025.
• Kona to Oakland Suspension of one daily service, effective March 6, 2025.
• Kona to Sacramento Reintroduction of one daily 737 MAX 8 service.

Note that the Kona-Sacramento flight schedule change will be effective from June 5 – August 4, 2025

• WN3548 Departs Kona at 10:00 and arrives in Sacramento at 18:05.
• WN3670 Departs Sacramento at 09:30 and arrives in Kona at 12:00.

Lihue-Los Angeles service will resume with one daily flight scheduled from June 7 to August 3, 2025, reflecting a reduction from the two daily flights operated in 2024.

Southwest Airlines Seasonal Route Expansion:

Southwest Airlines will also launch a new seasonal service between Colorado Springs and Cancun, Mexico, starting June 14, 2025. These Saturday-only flights from Colorado will offer direct access to a beach destination, catering to the increasing demand for leisure travel. Additionally, the airline is also expanding its daily seasonal routes to connect key U.S. cities such as Austin to Boston, Baltimore/Washington to Portland and Seattle, Dallas to Seattle, and Denver to Myrtle Beach and Savannah. This strategic move aims to boost weekend vacation travel.
