Mesa, Arizona, is known as an education hub but will soon become a premier sports destination. Throughout November, Mesa will host international and national sports events, confirming its status as a hub for major athletic competitions.

A whole list of sporting events is being prepared that includes the USA Touch Rugby National Championships, the Mesa Community College Thunderbird Basketball Classic, the U.S. Youth Soccer National League Quarterfinals, the U.S. Open Netball Championships, the IWLCA Southwest Cup, and the World Field Target Shooting Championships.

Among the listed events, the Biofreeze USA Pickleball Nationals alone might draw up to 3,000 players and 10,000 viewers. At the same time, the World Field Target Shooting Championships will have participants from 42 countries. The Field Target Shooting Championships were last held in 2007.

Addressing these upcoming sports events in the city, the President of Sports, Lance Fite, stated that Mesa has top-tier facilities that make it a leading destination for hosting such sporting events. Red Mountain Soccer Complex, Sloan Park, and the Arizona Athletic Grounds are some of the top sports venues in the city. The city is also close to Tonto National Forest and the Salt River, which makes it a perfect vacation spot for nature lovers.

What do November sporting events bring to Mesa? There will be substantial economic growth benefiting local businesses. With more than 20,000 athletes and spectators, Mesa expects to generate approximately $13.8 million in direct visitor expenditures and over 7,200 hotel room nights. This is the estimated data derived from the Destinations International Event Impact Calculator. Considering this, Mesa has the vision to host high-profile events like the Savannah Bananas’ 2025 Banana Ball World Tour and the return of the Western Athletic Conference Baseball Championships.
